Surrounded by stunning Argyll scenery and with the impressive Ben Cruachan as a backdrop, this newly renovated, semi-detached holiday cottage is a wonderful holiday destination for couples or a small family wishing to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this special location.

Secluded from the main house with its own front door and delightful enclosed garden, this single storey self-catering cottage is cosy and welcoming with its country-style furnishings blending in perfectly with the traditional surroundings. The spacious living room with its comfortable seating, dining table and cosy woodburning stove is glorious for quiet evenings and the stylish galley kitchen and charming king-size bedroom create a lovely home to return to and relax in after an active day discovering this historic and beautiful area of Scotland. The sitting room has the added bonus of a sofabed (available on request) allowing the cottage to sleep up to four guests.

The nearby village of Taynuilt has a hotel, excellent general store, Post Office, butcher and 9 hole golf course and the bustling town of Oban is just 12 miles away offering a wide range of shops and restaurants, many of which serve freshly caught seafood. During the summer the area comes alive with a host of highland games, festival and ceilidhs. Oban is also known as the “Gateway to the Isles” with ferries to Mull and the inner Hebridean islands.

Guests of Gorstain Bheag are welcome to enjoy free access to the beautiful 9 acre Angus’s Garden, part of Scotland’s Garden Scheme, which is 10 minute walk from the cottage. This magical and unspoilt wild garden is ideal for all the family with marked pathways leading around its glorious loch and surrounded by a remarkable collection of rhododendrons, trees and shrubs.

(Sleeps up to 4 guests in 1 x King size bedroom plus double sofabed)

Hall with coat and boot storage, galley kitchen, bathroom (shower, wc & whb), king-size bedroom, living room with dining table and sofabed (available by request)

Small private, enclosed garden with garden furniture, shared access to extended garden and grounds (please note open ponds – children must be supervised).

Lettings:

Lettings are weekly Saturday to Saturday. Off-peak short break bookings also available, please contact us with your request. Guests are welcome to arrive from 4pm and asked to leave by 10am on the day of departure. Check availability here.

Dogs:

One well-behaved dog is welcome but must be kept under strict control at all times as the house is surrounded by a working farm with cattle and sheep. We also ask that dogs please do not go into the bedroom and are kept off the furniture. Guests are asked to clean up after their dogs in the garden and surrounding area.

Smoking:

Gorstain Bheag is non-smoking & non-vaping.
